EnDat USB Serial |
EnPower
EnPower is a hardware dongle that acts as an EnDat master. It requests a position every 5ms (200/s) from an EnDat encoder (slave device). The position that is received is broadcasted on a RS-232 link. The value can be displayed on a PC application. EnSlave
EnSlave is a hardware dongle that emulates an EnDat encoder (EnDat slave node). The simulator responds
with a preprogrammed position to an EnDat master postion request. EnSlave accepts new positions to broadcast
from a PC application while it is fully operational.
Why an EnDat simulator?Cost:With EnPower and EnSlave there is no need to purchase an actual EnDat encoder before you can start developing your product. You can allocate your resources to where it is needed the most without tying up money in an encoder that will only be used during developement. Availability: The lead time on the simulators are very short. A developer can start integrating with the EnDat hardware, using the simulator, without having to wait for delivery of an actual encoder. Accuracy: The simulator is programmed to respond with the desired position. There is no need to twiddle with the shaft on a real encoder to attempt to get to the desired angle as close as possible. Ease of use: A PC interface is provided that connects over RS-232 to the EnDat simulators. The desired angle (position) can be entered in degrees, radians or mils and the display can be set to reflect signed or unsigned values.
